Ellen Gifford, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Vice President, Human Resources


Ellen Gifford serves Ascension as Vice President of Human Resources, responsible for HR strategy and delivery to the ministry’s system office and its national and international network of subsidiary companies. In addition, Ellen leads the ministry’s Talent Acquisition Center of Expertise.  Prior to joining Ascension in 2016, Ellen held HR leadership roles in multiple industries, including healthcare, insurance, staffing and hospitality. A graduate of the leadership academy at the RBL Institute, Ellen earned an MBA degree from Oklahoma Christian University and is a certified Lean Leader, Senior Professional in Human Resources and SHRM Certified Professional. Rob Major, PhD

Manager, Strategic Workforce Planning & Analytics


Rob has ten years of experience in workforce planning and analytics. In his previous roles at World Vision International and Ameren he created their workforce planning and analytics capabilities. In his current role at Ascension Health he is responsible for the implementation of the Visier Workforce Planning and Analytics solutions and oversees the analytics competency development of over 800 associates in HR and 6,000 leaders throughout the ministry. He received his PhD in Consulting Psychology from Alliant International University in 2016. He enjoys many outdoor activities- skiing, hiking, mountain biking, etc-  and is starting to share his outdoor appreciation and enthusiasm with his two sons, 5 and 7 years old.
